Mailbay for agencies and freelancers

Email for every client, without sharing passwords

One workspace for the agency, a project per client. Each project has the client's domain, inboxes and keys, and each teammate gets a role in the projects they work on.

What gets in the way

Every client site needs a contact form, a sender domain and a support address, and every teammate needs the right access to each.

How it goes

  1. 1

    A project per client

Domains, inboxes, keys and send logs stay inside the client's project.

    acme · northwind · bluebird

  2. 2

    Connect the client's domain

Their mail already lives elsewhere? Choose sending only or a mail. subdomain; nothing about it changes.

    mail.client.com verified

  3. 3

    Give each teammate a role

Admin, Developer, Support or Viewer per project, with access to some inboxes or all.

    Support · inbox: hello@

What each role can do

Roles are per project, so a freelancer on one client sees nothing of the others.

Admin everything in the project: domains, inboxes, keys, webhooks, members
Developer send, read and reply, API keys, webhooks, logs; view domains
Support read and reply in the inboxes they are given
Viewer read inboxes, view domains and logs

Works with what you use

What you get

  • Client work stays separate

Someone who cannot see a project gets a 404 for it, so one client's data never shows up in another's.

  • Inbox access per person

Give a support teammate hello@ for one client and nothing else.

  • Keys per client

A sending key can be limited to one domain, so a leaked key cannot send as another client.

  • Client mail apps

Clients can read their inbox in Outlook or Apple Mail with an app password.

  • Records checked live

Domain setup lists each DNS record with its status and the fix, to send to whoever runs the client's DNS.

Questions

Will connecting a client's domain break their existing email?

No, if you pick sending only or the mail. subdomain option when you add it. Mailbay then never touches the MX records that deliver their current mail.

Can a freelancer see only one client?

Yes. Invite them as a workspace member with a role in that one project. Projects they have no role in do not exist for them.

Can I bill clients separately?

Not today. Billing is per workspace, and paid plans are not live during the beta.

Join the beta

Mailbay is in private beta and free while the beta runs: inboxes, sending, your own domains and MCP. We invite people in small batches and read every note on the form.
